Make housing affordable, efficient and comfortable as the foundation of the right to the city
What do we want to achieve in 2030?

By 2030, less than 30% of the population of the Barcelona metropolitan region will be overburdened by rent and utility costs

Situations of residential overload (affecting people who allocate more than 40% of their income to rent and utilities) are reproduced throughout the metropolitan area, excluding more and more households of the market. According to the United Nations, housing is affordable when a household spends less than 30% of its income on these costs. Otherwise, such residents may be at risk of poverty and jeopardise their enjoyment of other basic rights.
