  • We recommend that all users employ pseudonyms or personal nicknames when using the Internet, allowing them to have an authentic “digital identity” that does not call into question the security of their personal and professional life.
  • All users are advised to take special care when posting audiovisual and graphic content on their profiles, as they may be putting the privacy and intimacy of the people around them at risk in such cases.
  • We recommend reviewing and reading the general conditions of use and the privacy policy that the platform makes available on its websites both prior to user registration and afterwards.
  • We recommend that users establish privacy levels on their social media platforms appropriately so that they are not completely public, but only people who have been previously categorized as “friends” or “direct contacts” by the user have access to the information published on the profile.
  • We recommend accepting only people you know or with whom you have had a previous relationship as contacts, and that you do not compulsively accept all contact requests you receive. We also recommend that you investigate whenever possible and necessary who the person trying to make contact with you through social media is.
  • We recommend that you do not post physical contact information on your user profile that would allow anyone to know where you live, where you work or study on a daily basis or the leisure establishments you frequent.
  • We recommend that you only use and publish content for which you have sufficient intellectual property rights. Otherwise, you may be committing a civil infraction that could be charged in national courts.
  • We recommend using different usernames and passwords to log in to your various social media platforms.
  • We recommend using passwords with a minimum length of eight alphanumeric and case sensitive characters.
  • We recommend that you have antivirus software installed and properly updated on your computer.
  • Minors should not disclose excessive personal data. Data should never be provided to strangers.
  • You should read all the information on the website. The information explains who the data subjects are and the purpose for which the data are requested.
  • If a user is under fourteen years of age, parental consent is also required. In such cases, whenever data is requested by a social media platform, parents or guardians should be asked whether or not they approve of the minor signing up.
  • Usernames and passwords must not be shared with third parties or among friends or classmates. These data are private and must not be shared with third parties and/or unknown persons.
  • Whenever in doubt about any situation arising from the use of social media and collaborative tools, parents or guardians should be asked.
  • Computers should be used in a common area of the household.
  • Rules on internet use at home should be established.

  • Minors must be made aware of and informed about safety issues.
  • It is necessary to explain to minors that they should never meet people they have met online in person, and that if they do so, it should always be in the company of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Ensure that children are aware of the risks and implications of hosting content such as videos and photos, as well as the use of webcams, through social media.
