Metropolitan Learning LAB

Espai d'Aprenentatge Metropolità (ESPAM)

Metropolitan Learning Lab

The main objective of the Metropolitan Learning Lab (ESPAM in Catalan) is to give young students the opportunity to immerse themselves in aspects of current affairs and important metropolitan issues while, at the same time, helping the PEMB coordination office as support for its projects.

To determine these areas, ESPAM draws on the missions set out in the framework of the Metropolitan Commitment 2030, which relate to the innovative and inclusive economy, income levels, climate emergency, mobility, food, territorial cohesion, housing and cultural vitality. Likewise, the needs of the PEMB and its network of institutional contacts and the ecosystem of metropolitan players in general are taken into account so that they can pose the knowledge needed about other aspects of the metropolis.

ESPAM takes shape by establishing collaboration agreements with universities and vocational training centres to incorporate students for various amounts of times and in different formats in undergraduate, postgraduate or master’s degree programmes. The Metropolitan Learning Lab (MLL) is the out-of-state version of ESPAM aimed at students from universities, business schools and similar institutions.

In order to do an internship in either of these two programmes, a university must act as an intermediary.
