Why do we need your explicit consent to use them?

Judgment of the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union, of October 1, 2019

The ruling of the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union, of October 1, 2019, must be interpreted in the sense that consent is not validly provided when the storage of information, or access to information already stored in the terminal equipment of the user of an internet website through cookies. It is authorised by means of a box which is marked by default and from which the user has to remove the mark in case they want to reject its use. In this sense, the authorisation must be based on an explicit acceptance or an equal rejection by the user.

This interpretation cannot vary depending on whether the information stored or consulted on the user's terminal of an internet site consists of personal data or not.

The Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union also sets out in this judgment that the information that the service provider must facilitate to the user of an internet website must include the time in which cookies will remain active and the possibility that third parties can access the information they store. This requirement is established in the version modified by Directive 2009/136, which modifies article 5, paragraph 3, of Directive 2002/58/EU.

Regarding the possibility of the user rejecting the use of cookies, it must be kept in mind that if you reject or delete cookies for browsing the web, we will not be able to keep your preferences, some characteristics of the pages will not be operational, and we will not be able to offer you personalised services. Every time you browse our website we will have to ask you for your authorisation to use cookies.

If you still decide to modify the configuration of your access to the website, note that it is possible to eliminate cookies or prevent this information from being recorded on your computer at any time by modifying the configuration parameters of your browser:

These browsers are subject to changes or modifications, so we cannot guarantee that they fully conform to the version of your browser. It may also be that you use another browser not covered by these links such as Konqueror, Arora, Flock, etc. To avoid these mismatches, you can access directly from your browser options that are generally found in the Options menu, in the ?Privacy? section.
