Conference: "Growth and Housing. Debate for a shared strategy in El Garraf"

The region of El Garraf is a strategic territory within El Penedès, with a fundamental role in the structuring between the metropolitan areas of Barcelona and Tarragona. This central position makes it necessary to accompany the significant growth and migratory movements in metropolitan areas that have transformed their cities and towns, through a housing policy capable of responding to current and future challenges. For this growth to be balanced, it is necessary to guarantee the creation of jobs, equipment and services that respond to the needs of agents, institutions and citizens.
This reflection takes on even more relevance in the current context, marked by various sectoral and territorial planning plans, approved or in the process of being prepared, which directly affect El Garraf, as well as by the initiatives promoted by local administrations and other agents. In addition, it acquires special importance within the development of policies to guarantee the right to housing, coordinated between the municipalities of El Garraf and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
To address these challenges, the El Garraf County Council proposes a working day with technical and political leaders and the housing sector. The objective is to know first-hand the actions planned for the coming years and analyze their impact on the territory, within the framework of one of the great debates opened in the region.
